Artwork produced as part of the European project Secondary Residence, coordinated by L'âge de la tortue, Rennes. Bienvenue/ Welkom in Anderlecht (Welcome to Anderlecht) is a collective artwork based on encounters with local residents around the popular game of tug-of-war. The video recounts the encounters between the artist, the residents and the rope. The rope becomes a frontier object that opens up the possibility of other forms of conviviality; reactivated during a day at Place de la Résistance, it becomes an object of discussion and transformation.
